Tanay Water District (TanWD) held its fifth mobile blood donation (MBD) activity at the TanWD BOD Room on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, from 8 a.m. until noon with the theme “Give Love, Give Blood”. The MBD was part of TanWD’s Valentine’s Day activities for employees and personnel.

Engr. Ambrosio Niñonuevo, Jr., Industrial Relations Officer B, and Mr. Jeffrey Marcelo Matienzo, Safety Officer-designate, initiated the event.

Data show that the blood donation event attracted 44 eligible donors. There were also 30 tested and qualified blood types, nine equivalent entitlement cards earned from the MBD, and 16 TanWD entitlement cards issued.

Personnel from the Rizal Provincial Government, Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan, and DOH Calabarzon facilitated the vaccine administration.

The TanWD Management regularly holds mobile blood donation activities as part of its organizational social responsibility and personnel health and wellness programs.

Health experts recommend giving blood regularly to lower the risk of heart diseases and cancer, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve a person’s overall health Donating blood regularly is also a crucial step towards ensuring a sustainable supply of life-giving blood in healthcare institutions such as hospitals.
